Ingredients

  • 250 grams 250 Russet Potato

  • 1 teaspoon 1 paprika

  • 1/2 teaspoon 1/2 garlic powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon 1/2 onion powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon 1/2 cayenne pepper

  • 1/4 teaspoon 1/4 dried oregano

  • 1/4 teaspoon 1/4 dried thyme

  • 1/4 teaspoon 1/4 salt

  • 1/4 teaspoon 1/4 black pepper

  • 1 tablespoon 1 fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

  • 2 tablespoon 2 olive oil

Directions

  • Cut the potatoes into thin, even strips, about the size of regular fast-food fries. Keeping them uniform helps them cook evenly.
  • Place the fries in a bowl of ice-cold water and soak for 20–30 minutes. This removes extra starch so they crisp up nicely instead of turning limp.
  • Drain the fries, then pat them completely dry using paper towels or a clean kitchen towel. Any leftover moisture can make them soggy.
  • In a bowl, toss the fries with olive oil and Cajun seasoning until evenly coated. Add a pinch of salt if you prefer them a bit saltier.
  • Set the air fryer to 190°C (375°F) and let it heat up for a few minutes.
  • Arrange the fries in a single layer (cook in batches if needed). Air fry for 20 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through.
  • Once golden and crisp, take them out. For extra flavor, sprinkle a bit more Cajun seasoning while they’re still hot.
  • Serve the Cajun fries immediately—perfect on their own or with garlic mayo, ranch, or ketchup.

Notes

  • Adjust time and temp: Note that air fryer models vary, and some may require or lower or higher cooking times and temperatures. If your bites aren’t browning well, add a couple of minutes.

  • Do not overcrowd: Arrange them in a single layer with enough space in between to allow even airflow.
