Easy Air Fryer Hasselback Potatoes Recipe

There’s just something satisfying about Hasselback potatoes. They’re crispy on the outside, buttery on the inside, and look way fancier than the effort it actually takes. Each slice soaks up all that olive oil, garlic, and seasoning, turning a simple potato into the kind of side dish everyone talks about. Whether they’re baked or air-fried, they always come out golden, flavorful, and impossible to resist.

Ingredients

  • 2 pieces 2 russet potato

  • 1 teaspoon 1 garlic powder

  • 1 teaspoon 1 black pepper

  • 1/2 teaspoon 1/2 salt

  • 1 teaspoon 1 paprika

  • 1/4 cup 1/4 olive oil

  • 3/4 teaspoon 3/4 Italian seasoning

Directions

  • Wash and scrub the potatoes thoroughly. Pat them dry with a paper towel. Leave the skins on for extra crispiness.
  • Place each potato between two chopsticks or wooden spoons to prevent cutting all the way through. Slice thinly (about ⅛ inch apart) across the top.
  • Brush the potatoes generously with olive oil. Season with salt and pepper. Make sure some of the oil seeps between the slices for even crisping.
  • Preheat the air fryer to 200C.
  • Cook for 20–25 minutes, brushing with more olive oil halfway through.
  • Serve warm as a side dish or snack. They pair perfectly with sour cream, cheese sauce, or ranch.
